SOCIAL AMALGAM: KINTSUGI FOR COMMUNITIES

Through the “Social Amalgam” program, the Prolongar® Foundation strengthens processes of attitudinal and behavioral change in communities that are vulnerable and/or affected by armed conflict. Through artistic and communication tools, we generate transformation processes on individual, interpersonal and communal fractures.

We strengthen socio-emotional skills in communities, promote reconciliation and contribute to stabilization and transitional justice processes. We work on transforming cultural violence.

¿Por qué es importante? La evidencia lo demuestra

The risk of armed conflict
recurrence is too high

In 135 countries the conflict has reemerged. There’s an increasing trend.

It is imperative to
transform cultural violence

Changing cultural and social norms is an effective way to prevent violence.

It is efficient
and effective

Every dollar invested in mental health treatment leads to a return of $4 USD in better health and ability to work.

HOW WE DO IT ?

Theory and Practice Together

We work with body awareness, movement, role play and different techniques that bring to experience what we have learned in theory.

Artistic Tools

We use Kintsugi along other artistic and symbolic languages that involve the cognitive, emotional and spiritual spheres of people and communities. We create comprehensive and sustainable changes over time.
