The Voice of Two Murals

San Vicente del Caguán - Caquetá

THE VOICE OF TWO MURALS

In October 2020, this project was selected by the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund for the Sustainability of Peace in Colombia, under the call for proposals to promote coexistence and reconciliation in reincorporation scenarios.

The general objective of the project is to promote and strengthen initiatives that encourage women from the community and FARC-EP ex-members participation towards reconciliation, in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán.
Beneficiaries are people in the reincorporation process, leaders from the “Peasant Farmer Reserve Area”, armed conflict victims, women from the Women and Gender Municipal Committee, young people, and other members of the San Vicente del Caguan community.

Despite the challenges linked to the implementation of a project throughout the current pandemic, we began activities in December 2020. The initiative includes, first, training for trainers sessions with each local organization. Afterward, a stage to apply what has been learned through other workshops addressed to women. Finally, the project will support a feminist camp that fosters reconciliation, the production of two complementary murals made by camp attendees (one in the “Peasant Farmer Reserve Area- El Pato Balsillas” and the other one in the urban area), and an opening event to present the murals.
